Sustainability Policy

Hotel Santa Caterina in Amalfi, an icon of hospitality on the Amalfi Coast and a point of reference for those who wish to seek excellence, is committed to careful day by day control in all areas of its operations to minimize its negative impacts on the environment.

Considering the importance of sustainability, the property has adopted a range of standards and corporate behaviors aimed at minimizing environmental impacts through responsible practices, (such as diversified waste management and the use of highly energy-efficient systems for lighting, heating, and cooling), which at the same time promote local social value.

Our facility is committed to reducing its impact on the environment and public health and safety. Our CO2 emissions are calculated every year and made public with an official report (Sustainability Report).

We strive, as much as possible, to educate our guests on behaviors that help save resources.

We offer sustainable mobility with shuttle service vehicles and luggage carts powered by electric engines.

The hotel management is dedicated to enhancing local resources, from an environmental, cultural, and above all, in a human perspective.

Local products from the Campania region are selected daily, supporting the community and promoting knowledge of the local culture. The food offering in our restaurants is inspired by the traditions of the Coast, respecting the seasonality of the ingredients and enhancing their flavors with careful attention to the most suitable preparation techniques.

A high percentage of our product and service suppliers are locally based. This percentage is checked every year, and the results are included in the official report.

The Management condemns all forms of discrimination, violence, harassment, and exploitation; they see diversity as a wealth through which to broaden their view of the World.

Our ‘Code of Ethics’ contains the values and principles we believe in.

The staff is a fundamental part of the business: with their experience and ongoing training, and their knowledge of the facility, they ensure that guests’ stays are perfectly in line with their expectations, assisting them with all their requests.

High respect is given to cultural diversity, both for employees and guests; therefore, even when traditions and customs differ from the local ones, the Management will make every effort to adopt all appropriate measures to remove any cultural barriers that could affect the guests’ experience at the hotel.

The staff is eager to help guests choose hotel and off-site activities during their stay, providing information about archaeological sites and the nature and food trails that can be visited nearby.

The hotel also commits to monitor its impact on the surrounding environment by regularly assessing the indicators that Management has set as a reference to track the achievement of its goals (see report).
